Ling in Paris“Viajas más que el baúl de la Piquer”, my friend once said to me. It translates to, “You travel more than the trunk of Piquer”; a Spanish saying from the 40s relating to Concha Piquer, a Spanish singer who travelled the world singing and had the country stickers all over her trunk (suitcase) to prove it. During this year, we’ve been blessed to spend almost every weekend travelling and since September, have visited 8 different countries. How do we do it you may ask?

Molotov Jukebox – Concert Review

Molotov JukeboxNot only does travelling open your eyes to beautiful and often amazing scenes, it can open your ears to wonderful sounds. My weekend in Sevilla was one of those times.

I admit, I can often get caught up in mainstream radio and what it regurgitates. Often I will just stick to what I’ve already purchased and have on my iPod and don’t always get to hear new music unless someone mentions it, or I happen to hear a snippet of it in passing and research further. BlaBlaCar – Hitchhiking for hipsters

Coming from Australia, getting around Spain is fairly easy due to the different options you have in terms of transport. Trains, plains and automobiles connect most cities, even small pueblos such as Pozoblanco. And if you are unable to get from point A to point B via train, plain or bus, there is blablacar.

Gibraltar – Where am I again?

Gibraltar (aka ‘The Rock’) is an interesting place. An overseas territory of the United Kingdom, but on Spain’s mainland, it seemed to have an identity crisis and one could be forgiven to question what country they are in when visiting. With a huge and impressive 426m high limestone rock jutting out from its surface and the population of monkeys living on (and what appeared to be owning) the upper part of the rock it’s certainly a unique place to visit.
